Miss Polly had a dolly -week 1.

This week Elm children have  been absolutely loving the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff! The children have enjoyed painting pictures of the goats and the troll, acting out the story with puppets and trip-trapping over our bridge in our outdoor area.

The children have worked in groups and individually to build bridges strong enough to take the goats, they have used a variety of construction and have looked at different styles of bridges from cantilever to arch and suspension and discussing which they thought would be the best for the goats.

On Friday Elm children went to PE with Holly class again, they really are enjoying time with Holly children and we can see a difference in their maturity from spending time with older children.  Elm children also spend part of their Monday and Tuesday afternoons in Holly class (with additional adults too), they look forward to this time each week and are getting to know Mrs Wilford and Mrs Park really well.

Maple children have been busy setting up a doctors surgery so they can help Miss Polly make her dolly better.  They have been learning the names and functions of all the equipment the doctor has from the stethoscope to the thermometer.  They have written many prescriptions for medicine and have been making notes of who is poorly and what they think it is.  They have really enjoyed the surgery and loved the fact that they could choose where they wanted everything to go in the surgery - no adults what so ever we’re allowed to give advice as to where everything

Both groups are been practising Cosmic Kids yoga and dancing too, of course DJRaphi was requested as a warm up dance!
