The children have loved listening to Elmer stories. They have been busy creating their own Elmers out of coloured tissue paper and paint. Elmer played hide and seek with the children, he kept hiding in different places around a box, sometimes he was behind the box or inside it, in front of it. Little did the children know they were learning all about prepositions. They continued their learning by hiding Elmer for each other to find by giving clues.
We continued to welcome new friends into Maple and Elm. The children have been so kind, showing our new friends where to wash their hands and helping them find out where all our toys are. It’s been lovely to see new friendships being formed and a lot of Elm children acting maturely and showing their new friends around the playgrounds and including them in games.
The children instigated a game of What’s the time Mr Wolf? We could hear them counting out the steps and helping each other slip past Mr Wolf.
The children have enjoyed Cosmic Kids and some dance sessions in St Mary’s room.
On the days we have had dry weather we have made sure we have had time in the outdoor classroom and the bikes on the playground.
A great week with more new friends starting next week!
