The excitement is definitely building in both Maple and Elm rooms, the children are now on count down to Christmas! This has been helped along by our Advent calendars.
As well as looking at our Advent Calendar we have also been learning about Advent this week. Children have learnt about the Advent wreath and what the different coloured candles represent. This week, as we read a story we lit the first candle for 'hope'.
Elm read 'One Snowy Night' with Percy the Park Keeper. The children have really enjoyed this story and have loved the room having a snowy theme, they have been making repeated patterns with different objects from their room and objects Percy may have found in his park.
Elm children are enjoying going into Holly class every Monday and Tuesday afternoon and are enjoying getting to know Mrs Wilford and Mrs Park.
Friday, Elm children enjoyed Forest School with Holly class and Mr Williamson, they made a pipeline travelling from one den to another, to test water would flow Mr Williamson put a Christmas duck in the pipe and success! The duck happily bobbed down the pipe.
Maple children were counting from 5 to 0, helped by singing Five Little Men in a flying saucer. Maple children have been very busy making lots of Christmas crafts, our floor has been very sparkly and glittery this week!
The children have loved decorating our Christmas tree daily (or maybe seven or eight times a day!), it’s been lovely watching them arrange the baubles as they practise singing our nativity songs.
We are looking forward to seeing you all on Wednesday at 1:30 for our Nativity show in the hall. Please remember, if your child does not attend on a Wednesday, they are to be dropped off at 1pm in Maple room. Please keep their coats and bags with you. Don’t forget to bring some money ready for our raffle as well! See you all Wednesday!
