At St Josephs we offer an introduction to the French language over the course of the 7 years. Early on in Reception and KS1 children will be taught songs and rhymes to engage with the language. In addition they will learn some basic phrases to greet people in French and ask simple questions.

In KS2 the focus develops to include both reading and writing which is taught through different topics. The emphasis across the school is that learning a language is fun and there will be plenty of opportunities for games, role-play, songs, drama and putting it all together for a performance!
