The Grand Old Duke of York and Cake!

Maple children have really enjoyed singing and marching to The Grand Old Duke of York.

In maths they have been making patterns.  They started off making a pattern of the same, then moved on to horizontal patterns -lines and vertical patterns - towers.  The children then moved onto making a pattern of two different items.

The children finished their buses from last week and made patterns on the Topmarks maths site.

Elm children read Cake this week, they have decorated cakes and then they enjoyed eating them with Holly class (enough were made for Maple children too so they could join in). Elm children focussed on their new sound of the week -a.  We had some great items come in that began with ‘a’ - ambulance, any, ant eater, apple.  Well done Elm children, we are so pleased you are enjoying learning the new sounds.

Everyone joined together for PE, we had some very energetic dance moves followed by DJ Raphi, then children’s new favourite artist on You Tube.  He has some great dance moves that the children love to follow.

Everyone enjoyed balancing and bouncing on our new ‘space planet balls’, you have to balance and bounce at the same time.  After lots of bouncing we swept up all the fallen leaves and then threw them up in the air!
