Maple children are starting their seaside topic now, perfect timing with the weather so sunny. The children have been learning the rhyme She sells sea shells on the seashore. The children loved making their jellyfish and then choosing where they would like to display them on the wall. Quite a few parents have been pulled in this week to see them. They have been very busy using fishing nets to scoop up the fish and shells in the water tray.
The children are getting very good at subsidising now, when they are shown photographs of fingers or pictures, with amounts varying between 1 and 5, they are able to recognise how many are there without counting them.
Our candle we light when we say our prayers has vanished, the children suggested they make their own
candles, so they have been busy painting their candle and only need to add their flames, then we will be able to display our candles on our prayer table and then hold them when we say our prayers.
As the weather heated up, we managed to get outside before it became too warm. The children have been very good at playing in the shade.
Elm children have been reading one of the Kipper stories - Sandcastle. They have been pretending they are eating in a beach cafe, collecting coins from the water. They have, of course, made sandcastles and have made sandcastles pictures with squeezy glue and sand.
The Elm children had another Storytime with Mrs Wilford, some of their parents and a few new friends who will be joining them in September in Holly class.
ELM PARENTS, a reminder that Elm children will be spending the whole afternoon on Tuesday 24th June in Holly class as they join the school for Move Up day
We know they will have a lovely time with Mrs Wilford and they are more than ready to be big Reception children.
