The nativity was a great success, we are so proud of all of the children. They remembered all the songs, the actions to the songs and their dances. It’s hard to believe that our youngest are only two years old. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did.
Maple children this week enjoyed the Christmas twist of a firm favourite, Twinkle twinkle Christmas star. We are all definitely on Christmas count down now, the children are enjoying finding Ernie the elf and our Christmas Advent calendar. We also lit our next candle on our Advent wreath. The children like us to turn the lights off, light the candle and then read a story by candle light.
Both rooms are a hive of activity making Christmas crafts.
Elm’s book of the week was the classic story, ‘The Snowman’. As well as enjoying that the children have been practising their threading skills, threading beads onto a candy cane. The children are loving learning their sound of the week, they are looking around all the time, looking for objects that start with their new sound (phoneme).
Elm children had a fabulous time with Mr Williamson and Holly class at Forest School, they had a fire and toasted marshmallows which they squished in between a biscuit, s’mores and hot chocolate - mmmm.
Next week, our final week before we break up for Christmas, we will be making and eating a marshmallow snowman biscuit, playing some games and dancing.
We look forward to our last week of 2024 with all of you.
