Elm children this week became palaeontologists , digging for dinosaur bones and fossils in the sand tray, dressing up as different dinosaurs, drawing their favourite dinosaur and counting dinosaurs. They loved the story about a little boy called Tom, who roared like dinosaurs, they obviously felt the need to join in with the roars too.
The nursery rhyme this week continued to be Mary, Mary quite contrary. After two weeks of practising the rhyme the children are now singing it.
We have been very lucky again with the weather so have been making the most of it and spending lots of time in the outdoor classroom and the large playground. The children are really enjoying the bikes and scooters and we can see the improvement in their stamina and strength.
On Thursday to celebrate the 80fh VE Day the children decorated biscuits in red, white and blue icing. They found it very hard not to eat the biscuit straight away (a few biscuits did have little nibble marks on them!). I the afternoon we all sat together having a story and ate our biscuits. By the silence for five minutes, it was obvious they were tasty!
Whilst Elm class were enjoying PE outside with Holly class and Mr Williamson, Maple class went into Holly class to explore and use the interactive board.
Fingers crossed the weather stays beautiful for the week end and next week. Have a lovely week end.
