Round and round the garden and Old Bear

Maple children loved playing round and round the garden on each other’s hands. The children decided they needed to gather all the teddy bears into the tent and then read them stories and play round and round the garden on their paws.

In St Mary’s room we set up a hive of activities ranging from the whiteboard to the bee bots.  The children have loved using the new program on the whiteboard.  They have been learning how change the pen and marker size and colour, then altering the thickness and how to use the rubber and how to delete their work.  Once shown how the functions work, the children played around becoming accustomed to the tools and loved drawing pictures.  We had lots of emotions on faces, rainbows and the odd banana!

The beebots are little bees with functions that the children can programme to move forwards, backwards and sideways.

We also had the mini trampoline, tunnels and mini climbing frame.  The children loved moving from activity to activity.   Elm children also joined us and had as much fun as Maple.

Elm children’s book this week was Old Bear by Jane Hissey.  The children designed, and painted their own bears.  When painting they used forks to create the texture of fur.  They should be expert washer uppers by now after practising their washing up in the water tray.

In maths the children were focussing on number rhymes, they sang 5 little monkeys, 5 little ducks and 5 little speckled frogs.

The weather was lovely again, so we spent as much time as we could in the outside in the outdoor classroom and on the big playground with the bikes and scooters.
