Baa Baa Black Sheep and Silly Suzy Goose

Another busy week for all of the children.

Maple class have continued with their second week of the nursery rhyme Baa Baa Black Sheep, they know the rhyme so well, an adult can say part of the rhyme and the children can finish it  off.

The children have been learning how sheep’s wool can be turned into jumpers that we wear. After watching sheep being sheared to help them feel cool in summer.  The wool was then brushed, spun into wool on a spinning wheel which was then dyed ready for people to buy.

In maths maple children were learning about making patterns, they drew some with chalk outside and then changed them with wet brushes, They also used large pegs and boards.

Both Maple and Elm children have been looking after new friends who are joining us.  They have made us very proud, showing our new friends where to wash hands, what toys we have and how we say our prayers and choose our leader each day.

Both classes have been lucky enough to go in the outdoor classroom with Holly class and Mrs Wilford, they have loved getting to know the older children and Mrs Wilford now is bombarded with cuddles when she enters Maple room!

Maple and Elm children have had the chance to explore Holly class when they were at the theatre. They loved the magnetic letters and shapes and the chance to mark mark on the whiteboards.

Elm children have been making patterns this week, starting with alternate colours-blue red blue red, working up to blue blue red, blue blue red.  They then made their own patterns independently.

On Friday, Elm children had a great time at Forest School with Mr Williamson and Holly class.
