Well, didn’t they do well?!! I’m sure you’ll agree that all of the children gave a fantastic performance during their class assembly yesterday?! They all sang beautifully, danced with gusto and said their lines confidently. Mrs Park and I were extremely proud of them and the part they did about their aspirations for when they are grown-ups, brought a tear to Mrs Langford’s eye.
It’s been a lovely week and there was no better way to end it than a teddy bear’s picnic! It was lovely to see the children’s reactions as their made their way up to the meadow, only discover that their teddy/toy had made it up there first! π
In maths we have been learning all about doubles to 10, which the children are getting very good at. There is a catchy rap which we’ve been practising, to which the link can be found here…. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ik_-OAgzD-8
The children did some super descriptive writing about the Evil Pea as he made a comeback with his cheeky antics and Supertato wanted us to make wanted posters so that he could be found. Luckily they worked and Supertato is safe again!
We have learnt two new tricky words in phonics ; today and out. There are no more new tricky words that are going to be introduced now until Year 1! We have also learnt about words ending in ‘ed’ that can make either a /t/ or an /id/ sound and words ending in ‘est’. They are reading much longer words now, such as smashed, grunted and freshest!
Please remember that school is closed tomorrow and we re-open after the half term break on Monday 2nd June. In the meantime, I hope that you all have a lovely week ahead and that we hopefully have a bit of sunshine again. π€βΊοΈ
