Following in the footsteps of Jesus, together we love live and learn.

W/C: 16th June

What a scorcher it has been this week, but the children have coped very well considering the intense heat! We have enjoyed lots of water play and playing in the shade - we are very lucky to have such a large tree in our outdoor classroom.

This week we have been reading Julia Donaldson's 'Sharing a Shell' which we have really enjoyed. It gave us the opportunity to talk about what is fair/unfair and linked nicely to our PSHE focus this week which was about making 'good choices'. The children enjoyed doing lots of artwork related to our book of the week, including painting shells and drawing shells with as much detail as possible.

In maths we have been learning about sharing and grouping using both an odd and even amount of objects. We will continue to dig a little deeper into this next week and will also revise doubling to ensure it is still fresh in children's minds.

In R.E. we talked all about Father Naz! Children shared their ideas about what they know about him and what he does to care for us. They all drew lovely portraits of him which are due to be displayed in church.

This Tuesday afternoon, children will be visiting their new class - which is very exciting indeed! This will mean that they will be in Oak Class for the afternoon with Mr Williamson, alongside their Year 2 classmates. We have been talking about moving up to their new class in September and more discussions and will be had around this to ensure that children feel as at ease as possible.

Have a lovely Sunday. Bye bye for now!
