Following in the footsteps of Jesus, together we love live and learn.

W/B 3rd June 2024

We are learning about snails and have been reading the book It Is Hard To Hurry When You Are A Snail. The children have picked up some wonderful vocabulary while discussing these mini beasts such as mollusks, nocturnal, invertebrates and herbivore. We have thought about the life cycle of snails and how they grow from hatchlings to adults and labelled them.

We had great fun making snail habitats after we found out that snails like to live in dark, damp places and eat leaves. We have been very creative and made salt dough snails, this activity is great for building finger strength. They will be painted too. We have written sentences, remembering capital letters and full stops and enjoyed doing some mindful colouring of snails and swirls.

In Maths, we have been looking at number bonds to 10 and ordering numerals to 20. We have been using the snail resources and numicon to help us.

Snail races!
