All of the children in the Early Years Hub have been busy over the last week or two preparing some special treats for their mummies tomorrow and have all really enjoyed doing so. If your child was unable to attend school on Friday, they will bring these home with them on Monday.
Maple have been enjoying the classic nursery rhyme, Hey Diddle Diddle and made some super moons for the cow to jump over out of paper plates. They also enjoyed creating some moon craters using paint and toilet roll tubes, by using them as stamps. It's amazing what you can do with a toilet roll tube!
Elm and Holly have shown their budding artist skills by creating some beautiful observational art of daffodils. They have also enjoyed reading 'What's in Your Pocket?' This is a story set in Australia about a young kangaroo trying to guess what is inside his mum's pocket (pouch). This of course led onto lots of chat about what children would like to keep in their pockets. The responses ranged from sweets to toys to real-life kittens!
Holly and Elm also enjoyed their first Forest School back with Mr Williamson on Friday. There was much excitement about returning to the forest again. As well as cooking in the mud kitchen, the ski slope and the hammock were two of the firm favourites!
Finally, just a quick note to say that we seem to be having a bit of a tummy bug doing the rounds, so please be vigilant with your child's hand washing. If they are unfortunate to experience sickness or diarrhoea, then they will need to stay off school for 48 hours please to help stop it spreading to others. Thank you for your cooperation with this.
Wishing all of the mummies a very Happy Mother's Day, hope the sun continues to shine for you!
