Maple children have been singing a new nursery rhyme, Mary Mary quite contrary. We all had sea shells out so we could listen to the sea and instead of sand in the sand tray we had soil, bells, sea shells and flowers so we could re-enact the rhyme.
Since we came back from Easter, the children were showing us how strong their fingers are; they can all now squeeze pegs open and place their photos in -well done Maple, that is such an amazing achievement!
We have been reading stories from the Children’s Bible, after Wednesday’s storm it seemed appropriate to read Noah’s Ark, we the.had our Ark out with all the animals and Mr and Mrs Noah and the children talked about different parts of the story.
In maths we have been practising recognising quantities of 1, 2 and 3.
In between the rain, the children have been making the most of the outdoor classroom, we have some new resources and they have loved investigating with them.
On Monday the Little Red Hen asked Elm children to help her make the bread and that’s just what we did! The children did a fantastic job mixing all of the ingredients together and then kneading the dough. Hopefully it tasted as delicious as it smelled as it came out of the oven. ☺️
