Following in the footsteps of Jesus, together we love live and learn.

W/C: 8th September

It has been such an enjoyable week and I am extremely proud of how well all of the children in Holly Class are beginning to settle into school life and pick up the routines we have. It has been a real joy to see how nicely the children have been playing together and watch new and existing friendships blossom.

This week has been all about allowing children to find their feet and become familiar with their new environment, new  adults and friends. We have played lots of ‘getting to know you’ games and also games to practice ‘good listening’ skills.  Children have also really enjoyed taking part in Dough Disco, which is like a disco for hands using play dough and really helps to strengthen muscles in preparation for writing. Squiggle time have also been a favourite, in which children copy a dance/actions to music and then in time, will translate these movements onto paper to help develop their letter formation.

Your child should have brought home a piece of paper stating their day for their Show and Tell next week. If you have any further queries about this please just ask.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and lots of rest. I’m sure there will be lots of tired children out there after a first busy week at school. ☺️
