A HUGE well done to all of the children in Holly Class for their fantastic performances in our nativity shows! They were so brave to stand up on the stage, singing, dancing and talking - the grown ups in school all felt very proud of all of the children. We really hope you enjoyed it too.
We are of course on the countdown to Christmas now and the children are getting excited and tired all at the same time. They really enjoyed their Christmas lunch on Thursday and looked fantastic in their Christmas jumpers. We will be doing lots of fun, Christmassy activities next week, including a jolly man in red visiting us on Thursday (ho, ho, ho). We are having an open morning in Holly Class on Tuesday for any new, prospective parents/children that are thinking of joining our school. Please spread the word.
Thank you for all of the milk bottle donations - the children used them to made an Elmer-themed elephant. They had great fun doing this and they all look fantastic and each one of them different and unique.
In phonics, we did lots of revision and consolidation over previously taught sounds and will be doing the same again this week. The children are working so hard and making great progress.
In maths, we explored squares and rectangles. We had a go at sorting shapes, describing them using key mathematical vocabulary, such as 'straight sides and corners'. We also explored making different shapes by making cuts in a rectangular piece of paper.
Please remember that there is no after school club tomorrow (Monday).
Bye for now! :)
