Our Weekly Roundup:

Holly Class had a great time in P.E. today with Mr Williamson as they developed lots of different climbing, balancing and coordination skills whilst navigating the apparatus. They have also enjoyed experimenting with the ‘wobble boards’ in our outdoor area, which is helping to develop their balance.

We have been reading ‘I Want My Mummy’ this week which is all about a snake that thinks he has lost his mummy, but his mummy was there all along and Jake was travelling on her back and didn’t realise! We have had lots of fun picking out the rhyming words from the story and sequencing the main events. Children especially enjoyed coming to ‘Drawing Club’ which is when they get to create their own related story in pictures.

In maths, we have been continuing with sorting and have been exploring different ways of sorting objects. For example, by colour size, type,  the number of something they have etc. This could be something you try at home with everyday tasks. E.g. sorting the washing, their toys, things you find on a walk together.

In phonics, we have learnt the sounds g, o, c, and k. We have also learnt the  tricky word ‘is’. I will explain more about tricky words in our phonics meeting on Tuesday.

Just a couple of reminders please:

- Please can all cardigans and jumpers be named.

- Please can all reading books and phonics card wallets be returned each Thursday.

- Please can children not bring toys into school as it can cause upset if they become lost/broken etc.

Thank you for your cooperation with this. Have a lovely weekend!

Bye for now 😊
