Oak

Welcome to Oak Class- Year 1/2

Welcome to the Summer term in Oak Class.

This first term we will be focusing on the book 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' and, in our curriculum lessons, preparing for a Teddy Bear's Picnic. So there will be lots of learning about instructional writing and tasting and making of picnic foods. We are also excited to be going to see 'The Gruffalo' at Malvern Theatres.

Next half term we will be reading 'The day the Crayon's quit' and learning about the life of Grace Darling.

Throughout the term we will be developing our understanding of multiplication, division, fractions and time. In R.E. we will be thinking about and learning about our Church and the Mass.

World book day fun!

Guy Fawkes models

Has anyone seen a dragon in the forest?! We've been looking for clues after seeing a dragon in a photograph of forest school!

Christmas Fun

Look at the amazing puppets our class made for homework,

The year always starts with place value. The year 2’s have been working hard to partition numbers into 10’s and 1’s within 100. Year 1 are working hard at number formation, sequencing and number bonds.

In RE, the children have been learning about creation and the story of Noah’s arc. We had lots of fun role playing the story and creating our display.

First session back in the forest...we had a blast!
