We have reached the end of another half term in school and we are now half way through the school year! I think the children are looking forward to a bit of rest and a chance to re-charge their batteries.
It was a sad farewell to Rachel on Wednesday, I know that we are all going to miss her very much. We wish her all the very best and thank her for all of her hard work over the many years she has worked at St Joseph's.
In Maple this week, the children have been really enjoying the nursery rhymes they have been learning and are joining in so well. The 'newbies' have settled really well and the 'oldies' have played a really important part in making this happen with their kind and caring ways. They have loved P.E. lessons in the hall using the apparatus and seem to get more and more daring with what they do each time!
Elm have been making some super name rockets, which not only look fantastic, have really helped them to recognise the order of letters in their name. They are so settled in their new room (previously St Mary's) and have so many exciting, different learning opportunities to engage with. In phonics, Elm's sound of the week has been 'e'. I wonder what they can spot at home that starts with this sound?
Holly and Elm enjoyed a lovely trip together to the church, where they took part in Rainbow Bear's baptism with Father Naz. This was such a special opportunity for them to see all what they had learnt about baptism be put into practice. They were mesmerised as rainbow Bear had holy water tipped onto her head!
After half term, Elm and Holly Class will be doing Forest School with Mr Williamson on Fridays again. However, this won't start until the second week back at school (Friday 6th March).
Have a great week & fingers crossed we have better weather!
Bye for now!
