My goodness what a busy Christmassy week the children have had! We started the week off with our Nativity, the children’s first performance of the week was to the rest of their school, which is always special as they love seeing their siblings in the audience.
The following day we had two performances, one in the morning and the second in the afternoon. The children remembered the words and actions to the songs when to go onto the stage and their dances or words. It’s very daunting seeing your grown ups in the audience and not being with them but the children were so good, a few went for a cuddle and a kiss but they remembered to come back and continue the performance. We hope you all enjoyed it and we appreciate you taking time off work to support your children.
We also had our Christmas dinner this week. The reactions of the children were lovely “Wow! This is my favourite food, I love all of these things!” “ooo stuffing, I love stuffing.” “I love pigs in blankets!” The pudding of a glitter cupcake also went down very well!
In between all of our extra fun activities, the children continued making their Christmas cards and Calendars. We also welcomed some new friends who came for settling in sessions ready to start in January. As always, the children were so kind playing with their new friends and showing them where the toilet was and where to wash their hands.
Elm children on Friday had a very special last Forest School session with Holly class and Mr Williamson. They had a fire, toasted marshmallows, and drank warm juice. Mr Williamson said the children were very grown up, they listened well about how to behave around the fire. Well done Elm children!
Maple children had their last play in what we fondly know as St Mary’s room. Next week, Elm furniture will be moved into St Mary’s ready for their new start in their new room in January.
Hopefully all of the children have had a good few nights sleep to recover from their performances.
Next week name lists will be available for Christmas cards. Please ask a member of staff for one, should you need it.
Have a lovely Christmassy week end.
