Maple and Elm’s weekly round up.
What a busy week we have had. The children are settling really well, getting use to our routines and are playing beautifully together.
When they come to sit on the carpet, they are now checking that they are doing ‘good listening, looking and sitting’. We are also learning a new morning prayer, the children are doing very well and are beginning to remember parts of it already.
This week we have been singing a classic nursery rhyme - Wind the bobbin up. We will be looking at each nursery rhyme for two weeks, so don’t worry if your child hasn’t remembered it this week, we have next week too.
We had our first PE lesson in the hall on Wednesday, we had ribbons to hold and we were wiggling and jiggling to the music. The children listened reallywell and had great fun.
We have been very busy beginning our Harvest crafts ready for our grown ups to come and see them on Monday 6th October, 2-3pm.
Elm children have been collating and making fruit and vegetables out of salt dough and Maple children have been on an Autumn walk collecting leaves they found interesting. Once they had their leaves they mixed autumn coloured paints, painted them and printed with them.
Next week the children in Elm will paint their salt dough fruit and vegetables and Maple children will make little hedgehogs.
Elm children have had a little taster of Elm room with Becci. They moved to music (WHAM!) to help strengthen their fingers and arms ready for mark making and writing. The children loved it!
Again, we have been very lucky with the weather so have had lots of time on the bikes, scooters and cars and have played in the outdoor classroom with Holly class.
Everyone has worked really hard and had a lovely week.
Well done Maple and Elm!
