Following in the footsteps of Jesus, together we love live and learn.

15th December 2025

Maple and Elm’s weekly round up.

We’ve  made it to the end of term! What a busy fifteen weeks we have had, we have welcomed lots of new friends, sung lots of new songs, especially ones for the nativity and have seen what the new Elm classroom will look like.

The children are very tired (and of course with this time of year, lots of poorliness) but they have worked so hard.

This week started with a surprise visit from Mrs Langford who officially opened our new climbing frame.  It was lovely to see her and she couldn’t believe how much the children had grown.

We have played lots of Christmassy games and taken part in Christmassy dances.  We also had a very special person come to visit us -Santa Claus!!

He very generously gave all of the children a present and had a chat with them about what  they were going to leave the reindeer.  The children also told him they planned on leaving him a glass of milk or hot chocolate or squash.

As well as a visit from Santa we also had time with our lovely Mrs Bowen.  Sadly, she is leaving us. She very kindly gave each class a present. Elm children  had some beautiful books and Maple children had bubbles and chalk. The children were very excited this lunchtime as we had the chalks out ready to use on the playground. We all love the presents Mrs Bowen has given us and hope she has some wonderful adventures with her grandchildren.

On Thursday we all came to school in our pyjamas carrying our cuddly toys. We had fluffy puppy dogs, walking talking penguins and Barbie in a beautiful shocking pink faux fur coat.  We all spent time in the morning in Holly class and made Christmas biscuits.

The Christmas tree in Maple room has been redecorated hundreds  of times, the children are now expert tree dressers.

Next term Elm children will still come through the normal nursery entrance, but will then be spending their mornings in their new Elm room.  They will spend their afternoons in Holly class with a member of staff accompanying them.

The old Elm room will have our mini trampoline, slide, tunnel and climbing frame in it.

Our first day back with the children will be Tuesday 6th January.

Thank you very much for the thoughtful words in cards and gifts, we wish you all a very Happy Christmas, that hopefully doesn’t start before 6am and a peaceful New Year.

See you all in 2026!
