Chinese New Year!
We hope you like the dragon we created this week to celebrate Chinese new. We have painted our names and the year of birth in Chinese lettering on circles to make scales for the dragon and worked together to make the tail, head and legs. We learnt about the traditional story of how the years got their names and about the Jade Emperor holding a race. We ordered the animals and held little puppet shows for our friends. We have been super creative and made the dragon puppets, which was a great way to hone those fine motor skills when folding the paper to make the body. We have explored the Chinese culture and learnt why this time of year is so special. We loved making lanterns too, practising our cutting and sticking skills.
