VOLUNTEERING AT ST JOSEPH'S

We welcome parents/carers and parishioners to volunteer at St Joseph's to support our pupils. Volunteering at school is a rewarding experience and benefits the whole school community.

People choose to volunteer for a variety of reasons.

  • For some it offers opportunities to give something back to the community.
  • For others it may provide an opportunity to develop new skills.

Classroom assistant volunteers may help with any of the following:

  • Listening to children read
  • Telling the children stories or reading to them
  • Supporting individual pupils
  • Supporting groups of children

For the safety of all children, regular volunteer helpers will be subject to a DBS check.

Before being accepted as a volunteer at St Joseph's, you will be required to:

  • Complete the Volunteer Form found below
  • Be acquainted with school procedures (Safeguarding, health & safety and behaviour procedures)
  • Apply for a DBS

If you are interested in volunteering at St Joseph's please express your interest using the form below and the school office staff will be in touch to talk about next steps.
