What is  Maple?

Maple is an exciting, stimulating place for your child to develop an early thirst for knowledge and information.  We pride our selves on creating a welcoming, nurturing and stimulating environment where all of our children aged two and three can flourish and thrive. Receiving loving individualised care and encouragement to participate in a variety of play activities.

Once upon a time…..

Each child comes with their own unique story and we are adding chapters to those stories throughout the year – some are short chapters, some are much longer. However each chapter helps us really ‘know’ each child and be able to provide learning to meet their needs.

Where do we learn?

The small and intimate room is attractive and designed to stimulate physical, intellectual, social and emotional development. They have a toilet and nappy changing facilities, as well as a comfortable, quiet sleep area.

To encourage children to become independent thinkers the room is arranged in areas; this enables the children to access resources themselves. Each area is tailored to arouse every child’s curiosity: explore, experience and create. A range of adult facilitated activities also take place, covering all areas of learning in the EYFS. Planning for this room reflects the children’s interests and also combines parental input.  We encourage parental contributions, as you know your child better than anyone! This means the children progress through their journey in the EYFS, in a fun and relevant way.

All children in Maple have access daily to outdoor learning environments where they are encouraged to take part in a wide range of physical, musical and social activities.

What do we learn?

Explore, experiment and try new things. This active learning supports children to choose their activities– what they want to do and how they will do it. This isn’t about ‘end products’ but instead about the experience gained. With one adult to every four children we are able to monitor each child individually and encourage them to move forward and develop their self-esteem, confidence and imagination.
