Chinese New Year.

Elm children continued with their non fiction books relating to Antarctica, read Keeping Warm.

However, the main focus this week was Chinese New Year. also enthusiastically threw themselves into celebrated Chinese New Year. The children had a go at pretending to dance with a Chinese dragon, listened enthusuiastically to the story 'how chinese new year animals got their names'. They painted some beautiful chinese numbers 1-10, however, the best part of the week had to be testing chinese food in their very own chinese restaurant. The table was laid out, they had chopsticks and were invited to come and try some of the food. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed testing the food and we are sure there may have bee n a few requests at home. Apologies if you were 'coaxed' into buying crackers and noodles!

Well, it's been a short half time. Have a great half term break, please keep up reading stories to your child, what they gain from hearing stories on a regular basis is immense.

Enjoy Shrove Tuesday and we look forward to hearing all about your amazing pancakes.
