Following in the footsteps of Jesus, together we love live and learn.

W/B 18th December 2023

We started the week by having our Christmas party, we played some games and then all sat down for a beautifully arranged picnic.  Thank you parents for your generous contributions.

We’ve been very busy making sure our Christmas cards are finished, our calendars are complete and all our additional ‘Christmassy’ activities are fully finished.

Elm children went to church to meet with Father Naz and look at the nativity scene.  They identified who everyone was and worked out why baby Jesus wasn’t in the manger yet (he’s not born until Christmas Day!). The children also noticed the Advent Wreath and impressed Father Naz by remembering what each candle represented - well done Elm children.

Elm children were reading Stickman this week and noticing where there was rhyming in the story.  Maple children and Elm children also listened to the rhyme Christmas Day Traditions. We talked about different traditions that some people have and discussed what we do on Christmas Day, including what we eat in our Christmas Dinner, we were all getting very hungry taking about our favourite part of the dinner.

We are very proud of all the children, we have had a very busy term and definitely agree that the children deserve a rest over Christmas (as do all the grown ups too).

Have a wonderful break, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We look forward to working together with you all in 2024.
