St Joseph's Catholic

Primary School

Following in the footsteps of Jesus, together we love live and learn.

W/B 4th December 2023

We had continued the space theme this week by eating How To Catch A Star. We have been writing small words, thinking about their sound and how to form them correctly.

We made salt sky paintings. We soaked the paper, the used pipettes to squirt the paint. We then sprinkled salt onto the picture. We cut out stars to finish. The creative activity has been a great way to increase those fingers skills. We had also been colouring and painting stars and suns. We’ve been playing games and making jigsaws in our space theme.

The children were introduced to the Advent Wreath. The candles are lit on the four Sundays building up to Christmas, with the white one being lit on Christmas morning. The candles represented: hope, faith, joy and peace. We coloured our own advent wreaths.

Christmas Jumper Day

Forest school. The children have been singing our forest school rules song all afternoon.
