Primary School

Following in the footsteps of Jesus, together we love live and learn.

W/B 11th December 2023

What a truly fantastic performance from our children - didn't they do well? Everyone looked wonderful in their costumes, which really helped them get into character. We had great, clearly spoken narration from Oak class, whole group, small group, duets and solo vocalists.  Even our youngest children of two, three and four gave a very beautiful rendition of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.   Everyone sang their hearts out; remembered their lines, where they had to stand and when to stand up and sit down. As 'grown ups' we find it quite daunting to look at the audience, but none of the children were fazed, which helped make the whole nativity go without a hitch.
Well done everyone!
On the morning of the navity, we performed to the rest of the school, our audience was wonderful. The older siblings were just as superb too, giving supporting smiles and 'thumbs up' when they could see their brother or sister looking nervous or hesitant.  We couldn't have wished for a better audience.
We are so proud of all the children and what they have achieved. Thank you for all your support at home, helping the children to practise their lines, remembering songs and contributing towards the costumes.
We all definitely feel 'Christmassy' now.

The children were excited to light the second candle in their Advent wreath and listen to a story by candlelight.
Elm children read the story '  The Nativity ' and listened to the same nursery rhyme as Maple children - 'Twinkle, twinkle Christmas Star'. The children were very excited to tell us that the nursery rhyme sounded very similar to their nativity song and had rhyming words in it. Elm children are becoming very familar with rhyming words now and excitedly like to share the rhyming words with Maple children.
The children have been working very hard on lots of Christmas activities-including their Christmas cards and calendars. We have made sure they get as much fresh air and exercise outside too. Everyone enjoyed Christmas hunts around the grounds.

A very busy, but magical week!

We had an absolutely lovely time in forest school today, we lit a fire, explored the elf house, looked at mini beasts and even had a surprise guest to our campfire, Father Christmas!
