Following in the footsteps of Jesus, together we love live and learn.

W/C: 1st December

The countdown to Christmas is on!  Holly Class were very excited to be greeted by a Christmas tree in our classroom on Monday morning and were very eager to help decorate it.  They worked together and did a fabulous job to make our tree look beautiful.  We have also made a lovely advent wreath for our prayer table and in our R.E. lesson, children learned all about the meaning behind this and what the different coloured candles represent.  During the week we were also visited by a rather cheeky little elf!  I have a feeling he may be causing some mischief over the next couple of weeks.....

In maths, Holly Class have been learning all about making 5 in different ways and how two smaller parts can make a whole.  For example, the parts 3 and 2 can be added together to make the whole number 5.

There have been no new sounds introduced in phonics this week.  Instead, we have been consolidating what we know as well as learning more about words that end in 's'.

We have been reading the story of the colourful Elmer the elephant and his black and white cousin, Wilbur, who was a cheeky ventriloquist who played tricks on Elmer.  Thank you for all of the plastic milk bottles that have been donated.  We are going to be turning these into Elmer elephants next week - watch this space!!

We are sooooo excited to share our nativity show with you on Wednesday!  Thank you for all of the costume requests that have been sent in.  You should hopefully have received an email informing you about how we are doing two performances; one in the morning at 9:30 and the other in the afternoon at 1:30.  There will be two seats available for each family during each performance.

There is no formal home learning set in books this week.  Instead, please can children focus on practicing their lines for our nativity show (if they have any) and the words to any of the songs that they can remember too.

Have a great weekend and we'll see you again on Monday.
